This whole health care debate is also pissing me the fuck off. How is helping Americans who can't afford health care get it, going to ruin our country for fucking ever?

Sorry for the language but this shit is pissing me off to no fucking end.

Today there was a horrible thunderstorm and I was supposed to make BBQ chicken but ran out of sauce. Not wanting to leave during the downpour, I made ghetto BBQ sauce using ketchup, A1 sauce, and liquid smoke. Funny thing is, no one complained or noticed.

I am all moved into my new apartment. I like this one much better. The bathroom is a closet and has zero storage which is a pain, but it's got stained glass windows, wood floors, huge kitchen, and a much better layout. All for only $5 more a month. :)

I haven't really been online. I barely check my email or myspace or any of that. I have a few blogs I like to check out but as far as social networking goes, I've retracted myself into my own little world. But, I'm pretty happy. There are a few things I'd change. For example I'd like to make some local friends that I can go do stuff with. My sister is notoriously unreliable. I missed the New Found Glory/Bayside show in Chicago because she didn't feel like going. I've tried a couple times to make friends but it never works out. Doesn't help that I am painfully shy when I meet people. And I absolutely refuse to get Twitter. I refuse to become "twitterpated"





The one thing I've done alot of lately is play WoW. Jessalyn is now lvl 70. I know it's lame and dorky to most of the world but I don't really care. It's cheap entertainment and I spent time with Justin. I meet interesting indivduals on there.

I know that through the past few years i've gone on dramatic highs and lows. Trying to find who I am, where I'm going, working out past issues, etc. But I feel like I've finally got a plan in place, roots growing in. Right now I want to save up to buy a house I can fix up. Maybe I'd like to own my own business. What that is, idk. Maybe I can find one of these old churches they have around here and fix it up to be a movie theater. Have nights like "Kung Fu Mondays." and "Friday night Horrors" But I will probably end up running my own daycare seeing as I know that business in and out.

I miss California soo much! Jenna will be 4 tomorrow. I was sad I couldn't visit this summer.

I went to the New Kids on the Block show and had SO much fun. I recommend it if you want just an entertaining show and you feel like being dorky. I mean the songs are nostalgic for me and ridiculously awesome. Carrie won tickets right next to the stage so we were so close. I can't find my camera charger so all I have is cell phone pictures :(



I can't believe I still remembered the words to alot of the songs! I was like 7 when I was into them and I had the sheets, the dolls, the stage, the cassette and vhs tapes lol.  They danced but not the moves they used to. Alot of sweeping arm movements, twirling, and two stepping.

And Jordan sang Give It To You from his solo try which I have always loved. I honestly think musically it was very catchy but the lyrics were so horrible it could never really blow up the way it should have. My sister and I still talk about how if you listen to Justin Timberlake and Jordan Knight's solo stuff, Jordan was ahead of his time. Timberlake just had better lyrics and a better producer.

Okay enough boyband fodder... I am 26 no longer 16.

I have been following Obama's visit to Europe and I am so damn proud to be an American. I know the media has been critical. but they have been having to really reach. Comparing Bush to trying to feel up Angela Merkel to Michelle warmly putting her arm around the Queen is ridiculous. Obama is so what we needed. I think by the end of his first term we will see our nation is a completely different and better place.
And our first lady. What a ridiculously classy lady. If you didn't see some of the amazing things she said here it is:

It was almost 70 today for the first time in months. I felt like myself again.
I've been thinking about California alot. I loved driving fast with the sunroof down and blasting upbeat music.
I get so scared driving on icy roads I try to avoid it in winter, and I missed driving around with no destination.

What sucks is Bamboozle plans look dead completely. Instead? Well... I purchased New Found Glory/Bayside/Set Your Goals Chicago tickets as well as New Kids on the Block. Kinda a strange combination, but they are playing here and my new friend Carrie invited me. I was a huge fan back in the day (meaning 7 years old) NKOTB sheets, dolls, yea the whole thing.
I may go see Howie Day next week just because I miss live music so much. Last live band I saw was Fall Out Boy last September.

I also miss having crazy colored hair. Everyone I know hates it but I feel so fucking plain with blonde and brown. I should do what I want right?

My sister is trying to thrust the whole Twilight series on me. I think if I were younger I'd be all over it but seriously, they glitter in the sun? It's the Jonas Brothers of vampire novels. You don't hate it but you know there is so much better out there. How can one go from Anne Rice to Stephanie Meyers?

Oh yea, they are real. It's actually an albino dolphin. Friggan awesome.

This year was supposed to be all different. I started in such a different place, that's for sure. Trying not to let guilt and fear of loneliness consume my life is hard!
Here is what I learned so far:

I can make the most delicious cupcakes from scratch
Bill Cosby stand-up beats all modern stand-up hands down
Guys really are that predictable
I really am that gullible
We can have a President I can be proud of
Netflix is 1000 times better than cable and a fraction of the cost.
British period films are always worth the time (happy love struck sigh)
The Office, while not being the next Arrested Development, is really as good as they say
Coraline is worth the exceptionally high ticket price.

So at work I decided to do flashcards with the kids. I knew they were sick of the ones we had been using, so I dug in the back of a drawer and found a pack of spanish/english flashcards from the 80's I knew this group hadn't seen. I start doing it when one came up showing a group of women/damas, and the following happened:

Me: What's this showing?
Them: People!
Me: Well yes, but what kind of people?
Them: *crickets*
Me: Okay, are these men?
One nearly 4 year old girl: No Miss Jessica, they're happy.

Kids are awesome.
